I pre-ordered a faster bigger wheel that would come in a couple of months. Rather than learn on the bigger more expensive wheel I opted to buy this. I’m glad I did as it pretty much crashed about 10 times. It got a couple of chips but it survived.Since it’s a lighter and slow wheel it allowed me to work on basics without having to struggle with the weight of a heavier wheel. When I eventually got my bigger wheel I had the basics down and mainly had to concentrate on adjusting for the size difference. I still go back to the V5F to fine tune technique.

I watched a lot of videos and read all the included information before hand. It was hard for me to balance on. I wrapped it all up to protect it and myself. Machine never got hurt but my shins got really bruised up just getting used to it, as every time I came off the sharp edged handle raked across my shins. I then covered the handle with socks and the machine with four layers of bubble mailers. It helped. I rode a couple hours at the soccer field against a long fence. Even when rolling well I wasn’t very impressed by it. The app was hard to decipher. It said it couldn’t do things because the machine was not in an upright position. So I couldn’t change the language or do anything. I never did hear any voice prompts or sounds from the machine while in use. The second day the app couldn’t find the machine anymore. I emailed help and they said they couldn’t help with anything in the app, which is how you calibrate the machine. It doesn’t tell you what the difference will be in adjustments anyway. You can delete flash but it doesn’t say what that is. You can turn off kill spin but it doesn’t say if it’s on or off when you do that. To change language and do some calibration it said to put the machine in an upright position but it was already and I couldn’t do those things. It made me question if the machine was working properly. I wasn’t getting any voice or sound prompts trying to ride it or charging it. If these machines get overloaded they will cut off, and standing upright, you’re gonna go right onto your face, so I’m not going to risk that. I thought only one wheels did that; it’s not worth the risk riding something like this. You need to be wearing full motorcycle gear minimum or you will have a bad day if that happens, and this machine has a smaller motor and battery so I don’t want to risk a cut off. It’s not worth the risk to be rolling around like standing on roller skates waiting to be dumped off if it is overloaded. I would rather skateboard bicycle and motorcycle with more control. This thing is a really risky sport, not a leisure pastime, and the benefits aren’t worth it. A personal mistake buying this. Others might not think it’s a problem. Pick it up by the handle only, not the wheel at all. It spins and you will cut your fingers on the sharp plastic wheel well. I didn’t have the best day. Sending it back like new. I got tore up.

So many EUC companies are so transfixed on faster stronger $3000+ EUCs, but inmotion had the brains to not forget all the new riders coming in. This is the best beginner EUC, but i might be biased since its the only one i own. i learned to ride the EUC in two days, and got bored of it in 5. Its great for learning but not for growing. You’ll get used to the EUC very quickly and realize how slow it is and how you want to go faster with your new gained skill. That’s the one down side to this EUC. Would be great for kids though.

I’m 50 years old and can ride a pedal bike. This is something I seen a 21 year old guy at work riding. It is not quite a Corvette but this could be my midlife vehicle purchase.Day 1: Rode it for 15 minutes and hurt my calf a bunch.Day 2: Rode it for 20 minutes and can ride it well, but I need a post to hold to get on it.Day 3: Rode it for 30 minutes and can get on it w/o holding anything.Day 4: I LOVE IT. I ride if for 30+ minutes with my cat on my shoulder. But, now I gave it to my 13 yr. old nephew to learn and am buying a bigger, faster one 🙂

This is a very dangerous thing. About half a year after the purchase, the wheel began to turn off by itself, which naturally led to falls. This happened twice, and both times for no apparent reason. After several such cases, I stopped riding it…for about a month. Then, I started riding again, and everything was fine. The last event happened a week ago (a year and 6 days after the purchase). The fall indicator (red triangle) came on and I couldn’t turn it off. I tried all possible methods: reset, zeroing data through the application, with the wheel on its side, with the charger connected or disconnected. Basically I tried all the methods and tips that I found online, on various forums, etc. Also, I managed to run the self-diagnosis program, via Bluetooth connected app, the result is that everything is functioning correctly, no problems were found. However, the wheel no longer works. Technical support does not respond to requests. The total mileage is 1453.97 km, used for 361 days (with a couple of long breaks). In summary: this could be a very good device: it’s great for beginners. Compactness, light weight, good mileage, fast charging, these are undoubted pluses. However, the complete unpredictability of behavior (riding with a constant expectation of self-shutdown is simply dangerous), and the lack of technical support overrides all the advantages. I do not recommend it.

So I am in my late fifties, never ridden any skateboard in life, have terrible balance in general. I saw the EUC on YouTube and think it is very cool. I finally brought the V5 when it is at $399 on sales. First 2 days of riding was very frustrating, then I discovered a long handicap access ramp not far from my house. That turned out to be the best training place for absolute beginner. Now after 2 weeks, with 18 miles on the odometer. I can ride on open space with wide turns. Still cannot get on without holding on to something. It is a lot of fun. I am glad I brought it.
