I ordered this for my 4 year old grandson for his birthday present. He had ridden one a friend owned and he really wanted his own. He was so excited when it arrived he almost couldn’t contain himself. It came with a full charge and he was able to ride it right out of the box, so Mom let him give it a go inside before she set up the blue tooth apps on her phone. After he had spun it around the carpet a few times, she set out to download apps. It turns out there are 2 apps to download, not just one. One controls the lights and music while the other is the mode settings for beginner, intermediate and advanced. These were fairly easy to set up once she realized there were 2 separate apps and not just the one. It wasn’t long before he was riding around like a pro. He wears his bike helmet for safety outside. The different modes max out the speed it can go so he rides in beginner mode which tops out at about 4-4.5 mph. His older brother rode it in advanced and got it up to 10.7 mph so it is possible to get it going faster than the 9 mph listed on the box, tho not prudent to go any faster than you are comfortable going. My oldest grandson face-planted after trying to slow down from his little zoomfest … good thing he knew how to Parkour roll and didn’t break anything!

My daughter loves hers she gotFor her bday back in June 2020. However Iโve had to make an insurance claim since then and now purchase a whole different board for Xmas 2020. The plug in for the charger on the device is horrible. I donโt know why the charging port design would be made with 3 very thin prongs that have to be line up with the charger to be plugged in….Iโm an adult and Iโve had trouble plugging in the charger, the prongs bending and it lining up and currently (Dec 2020) one of those thin prongs broke off completely so I canโt charge it anymore. My little brother kind of rigged it someway to charge after I spent another $200 on a whole new one. Besides the charging issue( which is a big issue) it works perfectly and itโs very pretty and music sounds great. Battery life isnโt so good, she might get an hour the most before it starts dying but that could also be because of my charging port issues. I have already made an insurance claim with Ausuron over the summer, I have to find out if Iโm able to make another again.

January ’21::1 week review::This is our second attempt at a Hover-1 brand hoverboard for my boy-kid (10 years old). We at first tried to find another Allstar because that his sister has one and hers has been fantastic so far (1 month). But unfortunately the one we did happen to find had a glitch, and we had to return it, and since it’s now right after Christmas, we couldn’t find another one in stock that wasn’t purple (we know it’s just a color, but he wanted one that didn’t look like his sister’s). So, since this Helix one looks so cool online (white/black camo and seriously it looks just as good in person) we got it. I didn’t even pay attention to the fact that it has Bluetoothโnifty, but unnecessary. When we got it, it worked straight out of the box, although the right foot pad seems to stick/click when he first steps onto it. I’m scared this will cause problems in the near future, but since the board still works like it should, my son doesn’t want to return it b/c he waited long enough to find one that works. These are very intuitive to use, and we all figured out how to balance and roll within just a few minutes. While it’s disappointing that the weight limit (160 lb) isn’t as hefty as the Allstar (220 lb)โme and his father can’t ride on itโboy-kid is happy with it, and that’s all that matters. Plus, we still have his sister’s Allstar to use when we have the urge.I’m just hoping that the crunching noise his foot pad makes doesn’t turn into a catastrophic failure. It’s a quirk he says he can live with. The speakers are plenty loud, although very muffled sounding. I don’t see that as something he will use very often. The unit beeps and then silences (same beeps as it does when it reads a fault) if he goes full speed, and we haven’t figured out what that is from yet. I read other reviews that said theirs beeped constantly, and hopefully this one does not develop that habit.Overall, I recommend this brand, now that we have 2 different styles of Hover-1.

The Hoverboard was a gift to my 9 year-old nephew. I was hesitant that it would not be a smooth ride or might end up having problems with charging and what not. But for months now, he has had such great fun on it! His 6 year-old sister is also now an expert. Itโs just amazing to see them float about on the board so naturally! It has exceeded all my expectations. Zero problems so far. It was a lot less expensive than some of the other brands which were more than 3 times the price I paid for this. Worth every cent! Highly recommend for children. Of course with all the precautions needed in case of the inevitable falls during the learning phase.

Durable, decent battery life- great for kids! Blue tooth is a plus and easy to hook up!

My son is happy with this hoverboard. He rides it regularly and it still works. He doesn’t complain about battery life, but I’m guessing he has realistic expectations for a13 year old.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. She charged it and will turn on but the second she unplug it it shuts right off and will not turn on. Anyone have any tricks?

The cover broke on both sides of the wheels when my son hit the wall during his first training.
