This is my third Hiboy scooter purchase. I have a Titan (the big boy) for long excursions and off-road, and my 14-year-old has a MAX. I need a good mid-range commuting scooter that is light enough to take on the subway when I go downtown to Washington DC, yet powerful enough to pull me up city/suburb hills with ease and last a whole day of sightseeing or running errands and is comfortable enough for sidewalks and occasional gravel and such.Setup: Well packed (pic 1), easy to set up, just 4 screws. Here’s a nice thing, Hiboy gives you 4 extra screws and extra allen wrench. So, lose a screw, no problem, you have extras! No waiting days for a new screw. Just one of those nice little touches.Weight, range, power, braking: This scooter is the perfect balance of light enough to carry up a few flights of stairs but having enough power to go up large hills in the city and a good enough range for all day sightseeing. A REAL disc brake coupled with the front regenerative anti-lock braking allows solid, quick, no lock braking.Comfort: Solid tires will always give a little harder ride than air tires. The benefit is you don’t have to worry about punctures. Happily, this scooter has 10 inch wheels (as opposed to the 6-8 inch wheels many scooters have) and good rear suspension so I had no issues with comfort over bumpy city sidewalks and such. The 10 inch wheels also make the scooter more stable as your riding it. Also, the thumb accelerator, and the brakes are all set perfectly and allow for a full day of riding without having a sore thumb!Storage, carrying, charging: What amazing engineering! Most scooters either lock securely but are a pain to fold; or are easy to fold but are wobbly when riding. This scooter folds with ease, just lift one slide, but locks super secure in place. No wobbling when riding (pic 2). And then you have this ingenious hook that snaps into the rear fender to make is easy and secure to carry with one hand (pic 3). (And that hook is the perfect place to hang your helmet when upright) Fits in the trunk of a subcompact no problem, and I had no issue carrying on the DC Metrorail. Charger works fine. Charges plenty fast enough for me.Dashboard, app, lights: To be honest I’m not one who really cares about a fancy dashboard or using an app. But the multicolor display does give the scooter a more professional look. I like that you can lock the scooter with the app, and really like the fact that there is a nice place to put an external lock through the rear fender area (which is solid and secure, not cheap plastic). I like the fact that the light is up high, which gives good visibility and negates the need for an external light. In addition to the backlight, you also have LED strips on the sides which makes you more visible to others and adds to safety. (pic 4 – taken in pitch black of my garage)Reliability, support: Obviously I can’t rate the reliability of this scooter, as I only recently received it. But I can talk about the reliability of my other Hiboy scooters. My Titan I’ve had for a couple of years and have never had a problem with it. My teen has ABSUED his MAX about as much as a teenager possibly could, and it is still running fine. The only issue I ever had is that he broke the back fender, which was not a fault of the scooter at all. Which brings me to support. When he broke the fender, I emailed Hiboy, and they sent me a new fender no questions asked! When I first got my Titan I had some technical questions on the charging, they responded to my email within a day with plenty of technical knowledge. Comes with a solid warranty. I previously had a Segway mid-range scooter, and it did not last very long before it basically fell apart…Price, conclusion: For the features and high quality the price is very reasonable. There are some scooter companies where you’re paying an extra $100 just for the name. If you’re looking for a very high-quality mid-range commuting/sightseeing scooter from a company that will give you support and makes extremely reliable scooters, I don’t see how you could go wrong with the KS4 Pro scooter.Oh, and it comes with a (nicely rather loud) bell. No more yelling to people when you are passing!

I am very impressed with the HiBOY KS4 Pro ever since I took it out of the box. I love everything about it and I’m very happy with the Customer Service from HiBOY prior to purchasing to assist with any questions to be sure I’m comfortable with receiving a quality product. The unit itself was securely packed and easy to unbox, with clear instructions and also QR code to download the HiBOY app. Assembly was very simple by just screwing the handlebars onto the column. I made sure to charge it all the way before riding the first time, the charger is compact and easy to use.The unit itself is study, well made and in great condition out of the box, it’s not too heavy to maneuver if you need to carry it around. It folds up and snaps to lock itself for easy transport and can definitely fit in a trunk or backseat of a car with ease. The heads up display offers clear icons and a few simple presses of the “power” button can change the settings, turn on the light, and switch between speed modes. The HiBOY app can help as well and it’s fantastic that the unit “locks” itself from powering on by using the app for any quick moments where you leave it unattended. Whether you wish to cruise at 13 or 19MPH, the throttle is very responsive and the cruise control feature works great. The dual-braking system is excellent too, easy pressure on the brake lever can bring you to a controlled stop with ease. Riding at night feels very safe, with the headlight appropriately angled downward enough ahead of you – and the red running board lights make it clear to anyone else to see you, plus the tail light is bright too.The battery life is as advertised as well, I usually ride at the 13MPH speed and probably completed a 10 mile ride and had more than half the battery remaining! The ride of the scooter is very smooth for not having “air-filled” tires. It can handle an incline as well with myself weighing about 190lbs. The rubber tires are large, handle bumps with ease and grip the ground well for a confident and safe ride. I would steer clear of dirt, mud and water as recommended. The grip of the handlebars is good too to keep my hands secure.Overall, I have a lot of trust with this scooter and it’s certainly fun! I’ve already recommended it to friends!

firstly, this scooter came extremely late. i just got it after ordering it over a week ago. i turned on the scooter and there’s an e3 on my display and i have no idea how that happened. i now have to return it and get another replacement.it’s also very veryyy heavy. as a short girl i cannot carry this around like other people can. i do wanna use it to get to college and work, but i am worried about how heavy it is.update: i received my replacement and tried it out for the first time. ill say, i am pretty impressed by it. i rode for 8 miles and the battery is at 81%. it also does really well on bumps and going uphill.

The app doesn’t seem to have much of an actual use but the scooter works great. However I can’t seem to figure out where to purchase part replacements like screws for the handlebar. I lost one screw at some point but otherwise the scooter rides securely and safely. Goes about 16-17mph sometimes 18 19 on a very smooth road. The battery does seem to struggle and dwindle much faster in cold climates but that’s just the way most things are I suppose.

This scooter is an upgrade for me from the Segway E22. It’s a great budget scooter. The only gripes I have for it is that the rear suspension doesn’t feel like it is there at all, and if you do get the seat, get a suspension seat bar as well cuz it will help. My other gripe is that on S Mode (sport mode) the battery doesn’t really last that long. Constant use would have it last maybe an 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Other than that, it is fun.
