My 3 yr old daughter loves all things digger (or “Scoop”, as she is a Bob the Builder fan), so this was a Christmas present to her. I knew it would be small when I purchased it, but since several people posted buying this for a 3 yr old, I figured she could still have some fun with it. Indeed: as a ride-on toy, this is very short–shorter even than one she got for her 1st birthday (a Mickey Mouse vehicle basically of this same style but without the digger extension)–and my daughter is tall, so she can’t really ride this around. However, it does require a bit of coordination to work the controls for the arm and scoop, and I don’t know if she would have been able to do it at a much younger age without getting too frustrated. She is very happy sitting on this with it up against her sandbox and digging in the box without doing much riding. More exactly: she *loves* this toy and does not care that she is much to tall to ride on it. I will say that it would be better if the arm could be raised higher; if you want to dump sand into a sand pail, for exmple, the sand pail has to be low or small to be able to get the scoop above it and dump in the sand.

We gifted this great little backhoe to our one year old great grandson for his first birthday. He almost immediately was riding it and working the bucket all thru the house. At 1 1/2 he is outdoors moving things at his discretion. He really loves it.The little backhoe was the perfect gift. It is extremely durable and obviously the great gift.

So I got this for my son for Christmas and he’s just now opening it. I don’t like the fact that the excavator arm is so close to the steering wheel. You can’t fully bring the arm up and down. Nor can you hold the steering wheel comfortably

My kids love this excavator. The only thing that’s off is that the toy makes police siren sounds when you push the buttons. Even my three year old exclaimed, “Hey, that’s not the noise an excavator makes!” Awkward…

my grandson took it to preschool to show his friends, he loved it so much !

Definitely not made for the 3-5 age range as stated. The age range is good for operating the toy, but fitting on it will be an issue. It’s very small. It’s easy to assemble and my nephew loves all the sound options on the steering wheel. Only downside is he’s 3 and it looks like he could be too big for it in about a week

Got it for my son who is crazy about construction vehicles. He loved it. Easy assembly. The crane works great too.

I feel like it’s nice enough if it was half the price. Bought for a 2 yr old boy and he loved it!
