The media could not be loaded. ย My wife and I are intrigued by the capability of electric bikes and scooters. We currently own 2 e-bikes and 2 scooters at home and we love the convenience it offers for the local commute and a great companion during the trips when we carry them in our car. This is 3rd scooter for us but it is one of the unique kind and high tech too. We are impressed by the looks of this scooter for sure but there are definitely some cons that need to be considered before getting this.My detailed comments are below after using it for more than 3 weeks and I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an e-scooter in this form factor & price range. My 2 cents are below:Pros:- This scooter is the most fancient of all we have. Design elements are worth appreciating- This scooter ride is very smooth overall on the plain terrain- Has a maximum speed of around 19 MPH. I am not sure about you but riding a scooter over 15MPH is something my wife and I both don’t prefer for safety reasons and hence it delivers as per our needs. It has a 450W high-power motor that can peak up to 750W and immediately catches the speed on pressing the trigger- Ride modes (Economical, Standard & Sports) can be changed via the app too that caps out speed toย 9MPH, 14MPH, or 19MPH- It has aย 24-28 miles rangeย and that is par with the standard scooters- Great build quality overall- The mobile app is one of the key highlights of this scooter. Connects easily and has tons of features/control to explore. Seeing scooter statistics is a nice feature- The battery indicator is nice to have on the display to keep a track of the remaining riding capacityย – Digital HD led display is very fancy and intuitive- Brake in both from and rear wheels worked great overall for sudden and usual brakes while riding it- The platform has a non-skid rubber coating making it easy to get a grip while riding- Single-button control makes it easy to operate (Single/Double/Triple clicks change everything)- Headlight LEDs are bright enough for night rides as well. We usually tend to ride in the evening or when it is about to get dark and hence we liked this- Taillight is battery operated too and works with the brake to make it easier to ride in the dark- Overall this e-scooter looks fancy and targets youth customers. It would be a great choice for anyone in their 20s-30s- 10” tires have good grip overall and we did not feel it skidding as if now- Great build quality and structure feels very strong from any angle- It is easy to charge with the access point in a nice area. It charged from zero to full in around 5 hours and I found it to be true to what the manufacturer claims- Comes very well packed and there was no damage at all- Scooter comes in big packaging with most of the assembly already in place. Just had to snap the handle and screw them up. It was overall an easy assembly and the scooter was ready to use in less than 5 minutes- Detailed manual provided and should cover any question you may have during use- Manufacturer offers a 1-year warranty on the scooter (however battery has 6 months warranty only)- Very reasonably priced in this category of product and it is a bank for the bucks considering the looks of these- Scooter is foldable making it portable to carry around- It is easy to remove the battery and hence a replaceable battery can be carried during tripsย Cons:- This scooter is only meant for city plain terrain. It can handle up to 20 degree upward slopes but that is not practical in the real world- Display visibility is not very great in sunlight and it gets difficult to read sometimes- Why manual horn in an e-scooter? I would prefer a digital one- Central stand is easy to operate, however, I wish it had a side kickstand too so that it was easy to park the scooter when the terrain is not plain

Iโve had this scooter for two months and it seems to have lived up to the positive reviews so far. That said, it was the first electric scooter Iโve owned so there were some issues I didnโt really understand until I started riding it. Iโm sharing these details here in case itโs helpful for potential new buyers.First and most important: wear a good helmet and understand that even a 15-19 MPH scooter can injure you badly if you fall off it. I hit a big bump going about 17 MPH while I was looking in back of me and therefore pulling just a little on the handlebars. Those two actions seem to have dislodged the stemโs locking mechanism, causing the front wheel to fold, taking me with it. Luckily Iโd bought full-face dual-sport helmet (MMG, under $80) so when I hit the blacktop face-first there was zero damage to my head. My hands, elbows and knees got bloodied and bruised but otherwise everything was okโbut I could have easily broken a finger or two if Iโd have hit the ground a little differently. Basically I learned that folding scooters can be a little more dangerous than the rental kind for this reasonโsomething I didnโt get at first. The UM-2 is probably not alone in the locking mechanismโs ability to fail under these conditions, though itโs hard to tell without having other models to test.Meanwhile, the scooter survived fine and was still rideable except that the handlebar became a little wobbly. I called Anyhillโs tech support line in California (listed on their website) and I tried their online help too but no one answered either. Worse still, THE CA PHONE NUMBERโS VOICE MAILBOX WAS FULL. I gave up on contacting them entirely and instead looked on YouTube. I quickly found a guy who fixed a Xiaomi scooter that was having a similar loose handlebar issue. The Anyhill was built the same way and it took about 5 minutes to find the hidden bolts and tighten them. It seems 100% now.The next issue is with the UM-2โs climbing ability. I live in a hilly place and this scooter carried my 230 Lb frame up all of my local hills. But it clearly struggled and slowed down on a lot on the steeper ones, so I had to change my commuter route to find a journey that avoids the steepest inclines. I have since learned that this issue is typical with any 450w single motor scooter, so this was more about me underestimating my terrain and overestimating how much power this kind of vehicle could be expected to deliver. As long as I think through where Iโm going and keep it to 10% inclines, it ascends my hills fine nowโif a little on the slow side on some. Finally, another issue that seems to plague all e-scooters is that ALL manufacturers exaggerate their vehiclesโ ranges. Theyโre not exactly lying since they list ranges based on the lightest riders at the slowest speeds under optimal conditions, but I hadnโt really understood this fact. Iโm lucky because my commute is short and the range is sufficient for my needs. And I love knowing I can buy a second removable battery to extend that range if needed.Overall, Iโve enjoyed owning and riding the Anyhill UM-2 and itโs met my expectations. There was a learning curve for me to figure out to ride it optimally, and I now wear more protective gear, but Iโm happy overall. Itโs fun to ride and I recommend it for people looking for an inexpensive battery-swappable scooter for somewhat larger riders. Just know what youโre getting into and do as much research as you can to understand what these things canโand canโtโdo.
